Setting the Space
I am hopeful these room images will help visualize what makes the most sense for your space.
I want you to select a piece that speaks to you but also will work in your unique environment. Deciding on the most ideal size is often something buyers struggle with. As a general tip, if choosing a location over furniture (couch, table, bed), I recommend a size that is at least half the width of said furniture.
Take lighting into consideration whenever possible, a suitable location will be free from any direct sunlight, a great location will also have LED spot lighting at a 30 degree angle onto the center of the print. Track lights, angled recessed lights and picture lights are all ways to achieve this. My personal favorite (after testing many options) are made by Soraa
I found for color temperature 3000K gave the best results with 2700K casting too warm a light and 4000K casting too cool a light. Specifically the bulb I choose is the Vivid model; Vivid 3 LED MR16 GU10 7.5W 10 degree 3000K 95CRI. This is a 50 watt equivalent bulb. The 10 degree spread is actually not the right choice for most applications though, I selected the 10 degree spread as I also purchased spreaders from Soraa which snap on magnetically and allow me to change the 10 degree spread to other measurements. These snap spreaders only work with the 10 degree spread bulbs. If choosing just one beam angle and not using spreaders, I would go with the 25 degree option but the distance your light is from the print and the size of the print determine the best degree spread. I use one bulb / light per picture. The CRI number is the most important figure you want to look for, higher is better. If interested in more information, feel free to reach out with any questions.
My Standard and Lumachrome prints both recess and wood frame are quite unique in that there is no glass in front of the print surface, this will allow light to shine directly onto the print and take full advantage of the benefits of proper lighting. My prints will appear to be backlit from behind and light sources will glow, taking the presentation to another level. Canvas Wall Prints will not benefit much from specific picture lighting.
Please keep in mind, the below images are based on 2:3 or 3:2 ratio images. While this does represent the majority of images, it is not accurate for all. See individual images in the Prints section for actual finished sizes.
